  1. Highlights how easily we are divided by a common language. An 'easy' book and an 'easy' woman, a 'challenging' book and a 'challenging' personality... Most words are ambiguous even within one culture. When it comes to irony and sarcasm (which we in the UK do so well) is it any wonder they are hard to export? I had the sense (as in comprehending) the Americans understood Gervais was intending to be funny - (sorry, amusing - I don't want to be misinterpreted here - here in the sense of on this comment, not specifically in the UK) Oh heck, what was I talking about (talking as in writing - well, typing)...
